About Us

Apple Ridge Family Medicine was founded by the husband and wife team of Dr. Nora Olson and Dr. Talbot Smith in 2005. Both Dr. Olson and Dr. Smith had recently finished their residency programs in York, PA and had a desire to establish a family medicine practice that would serve Adams County, PA. The original offices were located on the campus of Gettysburg Hospital. In 2008, the offices were moved to their current location, on Biglerville Rd.

Talbot Smith, MD

A Board Certified Family Physician since 2005, Dr. Smith provides comprehensive and preventative healthcare to his patients. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and has two undergraduate degrees: a B.S. in Biological Resources Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from St John's College in Annapolis.

Dr. Smith chose family medicine for the joy that comes with treating the whole family. His goal is to get to know each patient, taking into account each families’ needs and concerns. With a lifelong interest in learning, Dr. Smith stays up-to-date on the latest trends and developments in family medicine, ensuring his ability to offer the best healthcare possible.

Dr. Smith was born and raised in Maryland. When he isn’t caring for patients, he enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys reading a good book or spending time at the beach.
